Sophomore center Austin Maurer has been named to the 2025-26 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, according to an announcement from the organization on Mar. 24. The award recognizes student athletes for their combined achievements in athletics and academics.

The honor highlights the importance of balancing athletic performance with academic success for college athletes. Selection to the CSC Academic All-District Team is made by members of the organization and aims to recognize top student athletes nationwide.

Maurer appeared in all 35 games during his first season with Seattle University’s Redhawks, starting in 25 of them. He ranked fourth on the team in scoring with an average of 7.2 points per game and was second in rebounds at 4.7 per game. Maurer shot over 52 percent from the field and more than 72 percent from the free-throw line, reached double figures in scoring ten times, recorded his first career double-double against UTSA on Dec. 22, and scored a career-high of 19 points against Washington on Dec. 19.

Off the court, Maurer is pursuing studies as a Business and Economics pre-major at Seattle University.

To be eligible for this recognition, student athletes must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.5, be at least a sophomore both academically and athletically, and participate in at least ninety percent of games played during the season.

Looking ahead, supporters are encouraged to follow updates about Seattle U basketball through official channels or contribute directly to support Redhawk student athletes.
