Seattle Sounders FC midfielder Cristian Roldan has been called up to the United States Men’s National Team for a pair of international friendlies in Atlanta, according to a March 18 announcement by Head Coach Mauricio Pochettino. The matches are scheduled against Belgium on March 28 and Portugal on March 31.

Roldan’s selection marks his fourth consecutive callup to the national team, following six appearances late in 2025. He is currently second in club history for all-competition appearances with 397 and assists with 72.

The 30-year-old midfielder has earned 43 career international caps and was part of the squad at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. In 2025, he made six appearances for the national team, including two assists during a win over Australia. Roldan also played in all five fixtures of the USMNT’s campaign at the 2023 Concacaf Gold Cup, where he recorded an assist against Saint Kitts and Nevis. So far in the current season, he has appeared in all five matches for Seattle across competitions, scoring one goal and providing one assist. Last year, he led his club with 14 assists and started every match, earning MLS Best XI honors.

Pochettino’s roster will face two teams that have qualified for the upcoming FIFA World Cup. The first match against Belgium will take place on March 28 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, followed by a game against Portugal on March 31 at the same venue.

In addition to Roldan’s international duties, Seattle Sounders FC is set to host Vancouver Whitecaps FC on March 18 in Spokane as part of its Concacaf Champions Cup Round of 16 series before returning to league play with an away match against Minnesota United FC on March 22.
