Seattle Sounders FC forward Danny Musovski has been called up to the North Macedonia National Team for the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2026 UEFA Playoffs, according to a March 18 announcement. This is Musovski’s first international call-up, as he joins Head Coach Goce Sedloski’s 28-man squad with hopes of helping North Macedonia secure a spot in this summer’s FIFA World Cup.
The call-up comes after Musovski’s standout season in 2025, where he led Seattle with 18 goals across all competitions, just one goal short of the club’s single-season record. He also won the club’s Golden Boot with 14 regular-season goals and recorded the tenth hat trick in club history during a win over Sporting Kansas City.
North Macedonia will face Denmark on Thursday, March 26 in Copenhagen. The winner will advance to play either the Czech Republic or Republic of Ireland on Tuesday, March 31. The victor of that match will qualify for the FIFA World Cup 2026 and join Group A alongside Mexico, South Africa, and South Korea.
Musovski scored in five consecutive matches last season and contributed two goals during Seattle’s playoff series against Minnesota United FC. He also netted a game-winning goal against Club Tijuana in Leagues Cup play. So far this season, Musovski has appeared in all five Sounders matches and assisted in Sunday’s win at San Jose.
Seattle is set to host Vancouver Whitecaps FC on Wednesday, March 18 at ONE Spokane Stadium for the second leg of its Concacaf Champions Cup Round of 16 series before returning to league action against Minnesota United FC on Sunday, March 22.
