Washington women’s basketball senior guard Elle Ladine has received a training camp invitation from the Seattle Storm of the Women’s National Basketball Association, according to an announcement on Apr. 14.
Ladine’s invitation comes after a notable collegiate career at Washington, where she became one of only thirteen players in program history to record more than 1,300 points and 500 rebounds. She ranks eighth all-time for three-point field goals made with 166 and is fourth in career free throw percentage at 80.3%. In addition, Ladine is one of just four players in program history to score 40 points in a single game, achieving this against Northwestern in 2024.
During her time with the Huskies, Ladine earned several honors including being named to the All-Big Ten Second Team for the 2024-25 season and receiving honorable mentions for both All-Pac-12 and Pac-12 All-Freshman teams. She was also recognized as a United States Basketball Writers Association Player of the Week following her performance against Northwestern.
Ladine played an important role during head coach Tina Langley’s first recruiting class and contributed to significant improvements within the Husky program over four seasons. Before her arrival, Washington was ranked last in its conference; since then, they have returned to consecutive NCAA Tournaments for the first time since 2017 and achieved their first twenty-win season since that year.
Off the court, Ladine has been acknowledged as a Big Ten Women’s Basketball Sportsmanship Honoree and nominated for community service awards due to her volunteer work with youth programs in San Francisco’s Tenderloin District. She will graduate from the University of Washington with a degree in sociology.
The Seattle Storm are set to open their regular season on May 8 against Golden State Valkyries at Climate Pledge Arena.
