Seattle University men’s basketball announced on May 15 the addition of center Halvine Dzellat to its roster for the 2026-27 season.

Dzellat, a 6-foot-10, 240-pound center from Blois, France, transfers to the Redhawks after playing two seasons at Cincinnati. Head coach Chris Victor said, “Halvine brings terrific size and skill to our frontcourt. His international experience with the French National Team, along with his time at Cincinnati, has helped prepare him to make an immediate impact for us.”

During his sophomore year in the 2025-26 season at Cincinnati, Dzellat played in 26 games off the bench. He averaged 2.1 points and 2.0 rebounds per game while shooting over fifty-five percent from the field. His top performances included scoring a career-high eleven points against NJIT and collecting six rebounds against Lipscomb.

As a freshman in the previous season, he appeared in ten games and gained experience facing high-level competition. Before coming to play college basketball in the United States, Dzellat captained France’s U20 National Team and contributed to winning a gold medal at the FIBA U20 European Championship by averaging eight points and four point four rebounds per game during that tournament.

At club level in France’s Pro B league with Lille Métropole Basket Clubs, he averaged six point five points and four point five rebounds per game as one of their youngest players.

Victor said Dzellat’s background competing internationally would help him contribute immediately to Seattle University’s program.
