Husky distance runners compete at OSU High Performance Meet in Corvallis

A group of Washington Huskies distance runners competed at the OSU High Performance Meet in Corvallis on May 1, tuning up before the upcoming Big Ten Championships. Six men from the team participated in two heats of the 1,500-meter race during Thursday’s event.

The top heat saw Nathan Neil finish second with a time of 3:48.30, followed by Jamar Distel in third at 3:49.09 and Isaac Briggs in fourth at 3:49.38. Cruize Corvin set the pace for this heat.

In another section of the men’s race, Parker Mong achieved a personal best by taking second place with a time of 3:53.14, while James Crabtree was third at 3:54.31 and Will Schneider finished with a time of 4:02.92.

Ella Borsheim was the only woman from Washington to compete at this meet, racing her first career attempt in the women’s invitational section of the 3,000-meter steeplechase and finishing fifth with a time of 11:11.62.

Looking ahead, Husky jumpers, sprinters, throwers and vaulters are scheduled to compete Saturday at the Desert Heat Classic in Tucson.
