The University of Washington rowing program announced on April 1 that it will host the annual Husky Open this Saturday, April 4, on Montlake Cut.

This year’s event will include race categories for juniors and masters rowers. Organizers confirmed there will be no intercollegiate events in the regatta. The schedule is expected to be updated to reflect these changes.

Fans are invited to attend the Husky Open in person. However, there will not be any online streaming or video coverage of the races; live results will be available through HereNow.com.

Looking ahead, both University of Washington men’s and women’s rowing teams are set to return to competition the following weekend. The men’s team is scheduled for a dual regatta against Oregon State at Vancouver Lake in Washington on April 11. On the same day, the women’s team will participate in The Dual, an annual head-to-head race against California held this year at Redwood Shores in the Bay Area.

The Husky Open continues as a significant event for local rowing communities by providing opportunities for junior and master athletes while collegiate crews prepare for their upcoming competitions.
