Linfield Wildcats beat La Verne Leopards in NCAA Division III contest; Hampson pitches 4.2 innings

At 11 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 22, former University Prep standout Zack Hampson helped his current team, the Linfield Wildcats, secure a 9-5 victory over the La Verne Leopards in an NCAA Division III baseball matchup.

The match was held at Ben Hines Field and marked the teams’ fourth meeting this season. In their previous contest on Saturday, Feb. 21, the Wildcats were defeated 16-5 by the Leopards.

Hampson took the mound for 4.2 innings, striking out two batters.

The Wildcats are set to play their next game against the George Fox Bruins at Curtis and Margaret Morse Athletic Fields on Saturday, Feb. 28, at 11 a.m.
