The Seattle Mariners announced on Apr. 2 where their Top 30 prospects are projected to start the upcoming Minor League Baseball season.
This update is important for fans and analysts who follow player development and hope to see new talent reach Major League Baseball in the near future.
According to the announcement, the Arkansas Travelers will feature eight of the Mariners’ Top 30 prospects this year. Four of these players are ranked among the organization’s top five, with all but Emerson included on Arkansas’s roster. The report highlights that “the Anderson-Sloan tandem might be the best 1-2 pitching prospect punch on one team, while Lazaro Montes and Michael Arroyo provide the offensive punch.”
Several players could make their MLB debuts in 2026. Emerson has drawn attention after signing a major contract extension before playing his first game with Seattle, which may accelerate his arrival in the majors. Anderson is described as an advanced college pitcher who could join Seattle’s pitching staff during this season, while Ortiz may have an impact in the bullpen.
New faces joining various affiliates include Anderson making his professional debut for Arkansas and Peters starting out with Inland Empire. Ortiz joined from another organization through an offseason trade and debuted last week with Tacoma. The club also expressed excitement about its international signing class, particularly Rijo, who received a $2.2 million bonus and is expected to debut later this year in the Dominican Summer League.
Injury updates were also provided: Hugus will miss all of 2026 due to Tommy John surgery following an elbow injury; McGraw continues rehabilitation from right elbow issues; Shen is out until June because of a right elbow problem; Perez has been slowed by a forearm strain; Knipp’s return from Tommy John surgery is anticipated around June.
