Morgan Reimer has been named D1 Softball’s National Pitcher of the Week, according to an announcement made Tuesday morning, Mar. 24.

Reimer, a sophomore, currently leads the Big Ten Conference with 17 wins as a pitcher. Her record stands at 17-1 for the season, surpassing her total number of wins from her freshman year after just 32 games in the current campaign.

She holds the second-best earned run average (ERA) in the Big Ten at 1.49 and has recorded 76 strikeouts over a league-high 94 innings pitched. Reimer has also achieved five or more strikeouts in eight games this season and added six conference victories to her record.

This recognition marks Reimer’s first national award. She began this year on the Big Ten Players to Watch List and finished last season with NCFA All-Mountain Region Third Team honors.

Reimer’s performance reflects both individual achievement and contributes to her team’s success early in the season.
