U.S. Representative Pramila Jayapal, who serves Washington’s 7th district and resides in Seattle, recently addressed a series of issues on her social media accounts, including corporate consolidation in the food industry and the Department of Justice’s handling of files related to Jeffrey Epstein.
On February 4, 2026, Jayapal posted about her involvement in addressing rising food prices: “ICYMI: I hosted a field hearing in Seattle on corporate consolidation and the rising cost of food. Trump and Republicans are sitting back as prices skyrocket. Democrats are standing up and working towards solutions to lower costs for American families.”
Later that day, she commented on her recent conversation with survivors connected to the Epstein case: “I just got off a Zoom call with some of the Epstein survivors. The way the DOJ has handled the release of these files is absolutely horrific. Victims’ names have been released, they are being retraumatized, and the DOJ is saying they won’t investigate further. We need justice for”
In another post on February 4, Jayapal criticized individuals involved in redacting names from relevant documents: “It is unbelievable that Kash Patel, Pam Bondi, and Todd Blanche are continuing to protect predators — redacting their names while exposing the names of survivors and REFUSING to investigate these pedophiles. The people in these files, who wrote these emails, should be”
Jayapal has represented Washington’s 7th district since 2017 after succeeding Jim McDermott. She previously served in the Washington State Senate from 2014 to 2016. Born in Chennai (formerly Madras State) in 1965, Jayapal holds degrees from Georgetown University (1986) and Northwestern University (1990).
