U.S. Representative Pramila Jayapal, who has represented Washington’s 7th district since 2017, made a series of posts on social media between September 17 and 18, 2025, addressing issues ranging from the release of information related to the Epstein Files to school meal legislation and concerns over free speech.
On September 17, Jayapal posted: “Kash Patel and Republicans won’t tell the truth about the Epstein Files — so I will. I entered into the Congressional Record reporting about Trump being told his name is in the files and Ghislaine Maxwell’s comments to Todd Blanche about Trump’s cabinet.”
Later that day, she highlighted her legislative efforts regarding school meals: “ICYMI: With Sens. @RonWyden, @SenPeterWelch, and @SenatorBennet, I introduced legislation to give America’s kids access to healthier, unprocessed school meals. As Trump raises costs for all of us, we’re working to invest in our kids and families.” The referenced senators are Ron Wyden (Oregon), Peter Welch (Vermont), and Michael Bennet (Colorado).
On September 18, Jayapal addressed recent developments involving ABC’s late-night host Jimmy Kimmel: “Earlier today, FCC Chair Brendan Carr said ‘we can do this the easy way or the hard way’ about Disney/ABC ‘taking action on Kimmel.’ Hours later, ABC pulled Kimmel off the air. It’s a blatant crackdown on free speech by an authoritarian administration.”
Pramila Jayapal has served in Congress since succeeding Jim McDermott in 2017. She previously served in the Washington State Senate from 2014 to 2016. Born in Chennai in 1965 and currently residing in Seattle, Jayapal holds degrees from Georgetown University and Northwestern University.
