U.S. Representative Pramila Jayapal, who represents Washington’s 7th district in Congress, addressed several national issues on her social media account on November 17, 2025. Her posts covered topics ranging from the credibility of Epstein victims and the potential release of related files to the impact of immigration policies on child safety and health care affordability.
In a post published at 20:12 UTC, Jayapal wrote, “Back in September, I repeatedly asked Kash Patel if he thought the Epstein victims were credible. He refused to answer my question. As Trump continues calling the Epstein Files a ‘hoax,’ I’m looking forward to voting for their full release this week.”
Later that evening at 21:34 UTC, she cited statistics regarding federal law enforcement work on child exploitation cases: “Homeland security investigators worked approximately 33% fewer hours on child exploitation cases from February through April compared to their average in prior years.” Trump’s mass deportations are making America’s kids less safe.”
At 22:53 UTC, Jayapal turned her attention to health care policy and criticized Republican opposition to extending Affordable Care Act tax credits: “Trump and Republicans refuse to extend ACA tax credits, meaning that millions of Americans will see their premiums skyrocket next year. I’ve got a solution: let’s get rid of premiums altogether and pass Medicare for All!”
Jayapal has represented Washington’s 7th District since 2017 after serving in the Washington State Senate from 2014 to 2016. She succeeded Jim McDermott in Congress and currently resides in Seattle. Born in Chennai (formerly Madras State) in 1965, Jayapal is an alumna of Georgetown University and Northwestern University.
