U.S. Representative Pramila Jayapal, who represents Washington’s 7th district in Congress, posted a series of statements on her official social media account regarding recent legislative developments and immigration enforcement actions.
On November 18, 2025, Jayapal wrote about the House vote to release documents related to Jeffrey Epstein: “The House just voted almost unanimously to release the full Epstein Files. Now it’s on to the Senate, and then to the White House to be signed. It’s time for justice and accountability for all of the brave survivors — and I’ll continue fighting for them.”
Later that evening, after Senate action on the same issue, she posted: “This evening, as I stood with survivors of Jeffrey Epstein’s abuse, we all learned together that the Senate had passed legislation to release the full Epstein Files. Now the legislation heads to Trump’s desk. We will keep fighting for justice, accountability, and the truth.”
The following day, Jayapal commented on an immigration enforcement operation in North Carolina: “ICE raided a church in Charlotte, showed no ID, chased congregants into the woods, and left children sobbing. The Trump administration is beyond inhumanity. This must end.” This statement reflects ongoing concerns over federal immigration enforcement practices.
Pramila Jayapal has served in Congress since 2017 after replacing Jim McDermott. She previously held office in the Washington State Senate from 2014 to 2016 and was born in Chennai in 1965 before moving to Seattle. Jayapal graduated from Georgetown University with a bachelor’s degree and later earned another degree from Northwestern University.
