U.S. Representative Pramila Jayapal, who represents Washington’s 7th district in Congress, recently addressed a range of issues on her social media account, including support for survivors of Jeffrey Epstein’s abuse, criticism of former President Donald Trump’s immigration policies, and encouragement for the Seattle Storm basketball team.
On September 13, 2025, Jayapal posted about her meeting with survivors of Jeffrey Epstein’s abuse. She wrote, “I saw the bravery of the survivors of Jeffrey Epstein’s abuse when I met with them last week. They are fighting for transparency and justice — for themselves and for all others who have been impacted. They deserve better than the current stonewalling by Trump and Republicans.”
The following day, on September 14, 2025, Jayapal commented on the impact of Trump administration immigration actions on students. She stated, “Trump’s attacks on students are bad for America. International students contribute to the groundbreaking research and innovation happening at WA colleges and universities. So much of that work will be stalled due to Trump’s immigration actions.”
Later that same day, Jayapal extended her support to the Seattle Storm as they entered their first playoff game: “Good luck to the Storm today in their first playoff game! We’re rooting for you “
Pramila Jayapal has represented Washington’s 7th District in Congress since 2017 after replacing Jim McDermott. Before serving in Congress, she was a member of the Washington State Senate from 2014 to 2016. Born in Chennai in 1965 and currently residing in Seattle, Jayapal is also an alumna of Georgetown University and Northwestern University.
