U.S. Representative Pramila Jayapal, who represents Washington’s 7th district in Congress, recently addressed several pressing issues on her social media account, including health care policy under former President Donald Trump, the actions of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and humanitarian concerns in Gaza.

On July 26, 2025, Jayapal criticized the health care policies attributed to Donald Trump. She stated, “Trump is kicking millions of Americans off their health care. People will die.”

Later that day, she voiced concerns about ICE’s activities, writing, “ICE is acting like a rogue force — kidnapping and detaining people of all legal statuses, including U.S. citizens. That’s why I introduced my Stop ICE From Kidnapping U.S. Citizens Act, to make it abundantly clear that this is ILLEGAL.”

In a subsequent post on July 26, Jayapal commented on recent developments regarding humanitarian aid to Gaza: “First, the Israeli govt established the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation to distract from their two month total blockade on aid. Now that the horrors of the GHF are being exposed, their new distraction is ineffective airdrops. This is not a real solution. The starvation must stop.”

Pramila Jayapal has represented Washington’s 7th district in Congress since 2017 after previously serving in the Washington State Senate from 2014 to 2016. She was born in Chennai in 1965 and currently resides in Seattle. Jayapal holds degrees from Georgetown University and Northwestern University.
