In her first post of the day, Jayapal criticized former President Trump and Republican lawmakers regarding rising health care premiums. She stated on January 27: “Thanks to Trump and Republicans, Americans are now seeing their health care premiums double and triple — costing some folks more than even their mortgage payments. This is a crisis of Republicans’ own making. And people will die because of it.”
Later that afternoon, Jayapal marked International Holocaust Remembrance Day with a message commemorating victims and urging continued vigilance against genocide.
