U.S. Representative Pramila Jayapal, who represents Washington’s 7th district in Congress, posted a series of statements on December 18, 2025, addressing legislative initiatives and concerns about corporate practices and immigration policy.
In her first post at 15:10 UTC, Jayapal expressed support for a new bill alongside several colleagues. She wrote, “Proud to stand with my colleagues @RepMikeQuigley, @Rep_McBride, @ValerieFoushee to put forward this common sense bill to restore trust in our communities and protect public safety.”
Later that day at 16:01 UTC, Jayapal criticized the grocery delivery company Instacart over its pricing practices. She stated, “You shouldn’t be charged higher costs because your grocery app is profiling you — but that’s exactly what Instacart is doing. Their use of surveillance pricing to rip you off is alarming, and with @RepDeluzio, @RepPatRyanNY, & @RepAngieCraig, I’m demanding an investigation.”
At 16:51 UTC on the same day, Jayapal addressed former President Donald Trump’s reported proposal regarding citizenship status. She said,“Trump’s plan to denaturalize hundreds of American citizens every single month is outrageous. Every U.S. citizen should be appalled by this. If he can do this to ‘them,’ he can certainly do it to you. My full statement: https://t.co/3JXIfJ7hFj”
Pramila Jayapal has represented Washington’s 7th District in the U.S. Congress since 2017 after serving in the Washington State Senate from 2014 to 2016. Jayapal holds degrees from Georgetown University and Northwestern University.
