Rep. Pramila Jayapal, U.S. Congresswoman representing Washington’s 7th district since 2017, published a series of posts on May 18, 2026, addressing issues ranging from international diplomacy to corporate influence in youth sports and the live event ticketing industry.
In her first post of the day, Jayapal commented on former President Trump’s recent meeting with Chinese officials: “Trump’s China summit was just a big show of pomp and circumstance.” (May 18, 2026).

Jayapal has served as a member of Congress since succeeding Jim McDermott in 2017 after previously serving in the Washington State Senate from 2014 to 2016. She was born in Chennai in 1965 and currently resides in Seattle. Jayapal is an alumna of Georgetown University (BA, 1986) and Northwestern University (1990).
