U.S. Representative Pramila Jayapal, who serves Washington’s 7th district in Congress, recently posted a series of statements on her official Twitter account addressing issues ranging from foreign policy to survivors’ rights and immigration protections.
On May 1, 2026, Jayapal wrote, “Americans don’t want another forever war.”
The following day, on May 2, she addressed the ongoing efforts for justice related to Jeffrey Epstein’s victims: “While getting real justice for the Epstein survivors will continue to be an uphill battle, it is one that we will not give up. We will continue to demand accountability for them and survivors across the country.”
On May 3, Jayapal highlighted concerns about Temporary Protected Status (TPS) and its impact on healthcare: “The termination of TPS would be disastrous for every sector, especially health care. Listen to Katia Guillaume, VP of SEIU Local 1199, speak about how the cancellation of TPS would hurt our hospitals, clinics, and patients across the country.”
Pramila Jayapal has represented Washington’s 7th District in Congress since 2017 after succeeding Jim McDermott. She previously served in the Washington State Senate from 2014 to 2016. Born in Chennai in 1965 and currently residing in Seattle at age 57, Jayapal holds degrees from Georgetown University and Northwestern University.
