U.S. Representative Pramila Jayapal, who serves Washington’s 7th district in Congress, addressed several national issues on her social media account on March 13, 2026.
In a post published at 16:55 UTC, Jayapal criticized the previous presidential administration and its handling of the Jeffrey Epstein case. She wrote, “The way that Trump’s administration has protected the pedophiles and predators in the Epstein files is directly connected to how powerful people and institutions in this country lift up billionaires while suppressing working people. It is time for real accountability.”
Later that day at 19:04 UTC, Jayapal commented briefly on ongoing military actions with the statement: “Bombs are not the answer.”
At 20:45 UTC, she responded to reports regarding U.S. military casualties overseas by stating, “I am deeply saddened by the news of six more U.S. servicemembers who have died as a result of Trump’s war in Iran. This illegal and unconstitutional war must end immediately to protect Americans’ lives.”
Jayapal has represented Washington’s 7th District since 2017 after serving in the Washington State Senate from 2014 to 2016. Born in Chennai (formerly Madras State) in 1965, she currently resides in Seattle and holds degrees from Georgetown University and Northwestern University.
