U.S. Representative Pramila Jayapal, who has served Washington’s 7th district since 2017, posted a series of statements on social media on November 13, 2025, addressing national security transparency, humanitarian crises abroad, and law enforcement actions at home.
In a post early in the day, Jayapal criticized former President Donald Trump’s handling of unspecified files: “Trump is acting like the guiltiest person on the planet. Release the damn files.” (November 13, 2025).
Later that afternoon, she turned her attention to international affairs with a statement regarding the conflict in Sudan: “The ongoing genocide in Sudan is the worst humanitarian crisis in recorded history. The U.S. must do more to put an end to this crisis. There are legislative solutions to block weapons sales and support peace and security that every member of Congress should sign on to.” (November 13, 2025).
In a subsequent post, Jayapal addressed an Immigration and Customs Enforcement operation in Chicago: “The ICE raid on a Chicago apartment building that saw doors kicked in, children zip-tied, and armed agents rappelling from a helicopter? It has resulted in ZERO criminal charges.” (November 13, 2025).
Jayapal represents Washington’s 7th District in Congress and succeeded Jim McDermott in this role. She previously served as a member of the Washington State Senate from 2014 to 2016 and holds degrees from Georgetown University and Northwestern University. Born in Chennai in 1965, she currently resides in Seattle.
