U.S. Representative Pramila Jayapal, who has represented Washington’s 7th district in Congress since 2017, posted a series of tweets on November 15 and 16, 2025, addressing issues ranging from the release of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein’s estate to criticisms of former President Donald Trump and concerns about immigration enforcement.

On November 15, Jayapal wrote, “Donald Trump’s name appears in 1,628 of the recently released documents from Jeffrey Epstein’s estate. No wonder he’s trying to stop us from releasing the files. It’s time to release every last one.” The post referred to newly released documents linked to Jeffrey Epstein and alleged efforts by Trump to prevent their full disclosure.

Later that day, Jayapal commented on her involvement with immigration policy oversight. She stated, “I held a shadow hearing in Chicago to see firsthand the violence and cruelty that ICE has been inflicting on our communities. It’s outrageous. We need a humane, comprehensive path forward to reforming our immigration system — NOT this.” In this tweet dated November 15, she described witnessing actions by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and called for significant changes in immigration policy.

The following day, on November 16, Jayapal addressed economic issues facing Americans. She posted: “1 in 4 Americans are living paycheck to paycheck. And what is Trump doing about it? Driving up the cost of groceries with his tariffs and slashing Medicaid and SNAP. All while giving trillions of dollars in tax breaks to his billionaire buddies.” In this message, she criticized Trump’s economic policies and highlighted financial difficulties faced by many Americans.

Pramila Jayapal has served as a member of Congress since replacing Jim McDermott in Washington’s 7th district in 2017; prior to her tenure in Congress, she served in the Washington State Senate between 2014 and 2016. Born in Chennai (formerly Madras State), India in 1965, Jayapal is currently based in Seattle. Her educational background includes degrees from Georgetown University (BA) and Northwestern University.
