U.S. Representative Pramila Jayapal, who serves Washington’s 7th district in Congress, made several statements on social media this week addressing issues ranging from the release of the Epstein Files to criticism of the current presidential administration and support for immigrant communities.

On November 16, 2025, Jayapal announced a significant upcoming vote in the House: “This week, the House will vote to release the full Epstein Files. It’s time for accountability for every single person involved, and for justice for the survivors.”

Later that day, she posted strong criticism of the sitting presidential administration: “This is the most corrupt presidential administration in American history and it’s not even close. They fought to stop Americans from getting food stamps while pouring hundreds of millions of dollars into their own pockets.” The statement reflects ongoing debates over federal welfare programs and allegations of corruption at high levels of government.

On November 17, Jayapal expressed gratitude toward individuals who participated in a recent event focused on immigrant rights: “Thank you to the seven incredible witnesses who joined our Chicago shadow hearing last month. Their powerful testimonies, advocacy, and organizing are all critically important pieces of the puzzle in the fight to protect immigrant communities. Listen to their stories:”

Jayapal has represented Washington’s 7th District since 2017 after succeeding Jim McDermott. Before her tenure in Congress, she served in the Washington State Senate from 2014 to 2016. Born in Chennai (formerly Madras State) in 1965, Jayapal currently resides in Seattle. She holds degrees from Georgetown University (BA, 1986) and Northwestern University (1990).
