U.S. Representative Pramila Jayapal, who represents Washington’s 7th district in Congress, recently commented on a range of topics via her social media account, including local sports achievements and national political issues.

On August 2, 2025, Jayapal expressed support for a local soccer team by posting: “Incredible to see @GoBallardFC advancing to the USL2 Championship! Let’s bring home another win https://t.co/CwEa4f5aqp”.

The following day, she criticized former President Donald Trump’s actions during his time in office. On August 3, 2025, she wrote: “Donald Trump is using the presidency to make himself richer — all while raising prices for the American people. He only cares about himself. https://t.co/vXeOsMUhMj”.

Later that same day, Jayapal addressed changes to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), stating: “Trump is dismantling the CFPB — an agency that has returned $21 BILLION to consumers and stood up to corporate greed. Democrats used this agency to fight for working people. Republicans are tearing it apart to give back to billionaires. Let’s break down some examples https://t.co/bKkIagmGRc”.

Jayapal has served in Congress since 2017 after succeeding Jim McDermott and previously held a seat in the Washington State Senate from 2014 to 2016. She was born in Chennai in 1965 and currently resides in Seattle. Jayapal holds degrees from Georgetown University and Northwestern University.
