U.S. Representative Pramila Jayapal, who serves Washington’s 7th district in Congress, posted a series of tweets on October 6, 2025, addressing national political developments and expressing support for Seattle’s baseball team.
In her first tweet of the day, Jayapal commented on Project 2025 and recent political maneuvers by former President Donald Trump. She wrote: “Project 2025 was always Trump’s plan. Now, he’s using the Republican Shutdown to implement it even faster. He wants to become king. We won’t stand for it.” (October 6, 2025).
Later that morning, Jayapal voiced enthusiasm for Seattle’s Major League Baseball team with a message reading: “MARINERS!!!!!! #Seattle is with you!!!!!” (October 6, 2025).
In another post later that day, she referenced judicial actions regarding federal intervention in Portland protests: “A Trump-appointed judge just blocked–AGAIN–Trump’s unlawful attempt to send National Guard troops to Portland. She called out this attempted end run around her FIRST decision a day earlier and made it clear he can’t FEDERALIZE, RELOCATE or DEPLOY troops from anywhere. FULL” (October 6, 2025).
Pramila Jayapal has represented Washington’s 7th district in the U.S. House of Representatives since replacing Jim McDermott in 2017 and previously served in the Washington State Senate from 2014 to 2016. Born in Chennai in what was then Madras State in India in 1965, Jayapal currently resides in Seattle and holds degrees from Georgetown University and Northwestern University.
