U.S. Representative Pramila Jayapal, who represents Washington’s 7th district in Congress, posted a series of statements on August 4, 2025, covering topics from her participation in a local podcast to criticism of recent immigration and voting rights policies.

In an early post that day, Jayapal wrote about her experience at a regional media event: “I had a wonderful time at the @cascadepbs IDEAS Festival, joining Rachel Belle’s Your Last Meal podcast! Tune in to hear our conversation about all things food and politics! https://t.co/U2aqspLw03” (August 4, 2025).

Later, she addressed U.S. immigration policy concerning Afghan interpreters who assisted American forces during the war in Afghanistan: “Trump is trying to deport Afghans who assisted the U.S. military as interpreters during our country’s war in Afghanistan. We’re turning our backs on those who helped us and we promised to protect. https://t.co/Iiw37lDcdH” (August 4, 2025).

That evening, Jayapal commented on legislative developments in Texas related to election laws: “Let’s get this straight: Texas Republicans want to violate the Voting Rights Act and push unconstitutional gerrymandering — and now, they want to arrest Democrats who won’t go along with violating the law. Make it make sense.
