U.S. Representative Pramila Jayapal, who represents Washington’s 7th district in Congress, has posted a series of statements on social media regarding the recent killing of Renee Nicole Good by an ICE agent in Minneapolis.
On January 9, 2026, Jayapal wrote: “What Americans saw happen in Minneapolis is stunning. An ICE agent killed an unarmed 37-year-old US citizen — Renee Nicole Good — for no reason. Then, Trump and Noem told us not to believe our own eyes. We’ll keep fighting against their lies and for justice and accountability.”
Later that same day, she shared further details about the incident: “Some of Renee Nicole Good’s last words to the ICE agent who killed her: ‘That’s fine, dude. I’m not mad at you.’ The ICE agent’s words immediately after killing Renee Nicole Good: ‘Fucking bitch.'”
On January 10, Jayapal referenced the incident again while highlighting other national issues: “Minneapolis ICE killing. Venezuela invasion. ACA tax credits extension moves forward. Abortion protected in Wyoming. Here are 3 bad things and 3 good things you need to know to stay engaged and keep fighting for justice!”
Pramila Jayapal has served as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives since 2017 after succeeding Jim McDermott. Before her tenure in Congress, she was a member of the Washington State Senate from 2014 to 2016. Born in Chennai in 1965, Jayapal currently resides in Seattle and holds degrees from Georgetown University and Northwestern University.
