U.S. Representative Pramila Jayapal, who has represented Washington’s 7th district in Congress since 2017, made a series of posts on July 22, 2025, criticizing House Republicans over their handling of files related to Jeffrey Epstein.

In her first post at 16:50 UTC, Jayapal wrote, “GOP terrified of what’s in the files. The Big Bad Betrayal Party has scammed Americans again. Corruption, lies and hypocrisy. Release the files. All of them.” Later that day at 17:26 UTC, she continued by stating, “Republicans are shutting down the House Floor because they’re too scared of another vote to release the Epstein Files. What are they hiding?”

Jayapal also highlighted another lawmaker’s stance in a post at 17:27 UTC: “Great quote from ⁦@RepThomasMassie⁩. Agree or disagree on his positions but he’s one of the very few who is willing to vote his values and not bow down to the cult of Donald Trump.”

Pramila Jayapal has served as U.S. Representative for Washington’s 7th District since succeeding Jim McDermott in 2017 and previously held office in the Washington State Senate between 2014 and 2016. She was born in Chennai in 1965 and resides in Seattle. Jayapal holds degrees from Georgetown University (BA) and Northwestern University.
