U.S. Representative Pramila Jayapal, who serves Washington’s 7th district, posted a series of statements on December 19, 2025, addressing immigration enforcement practices, legal transparency, and health care reform.

On the morning of December 19, Jayapal wrote: “Trump’s ICE is kidnapping and detaining US citizens. And lying about it.” She did not provide further details in this post.

Later that day at 18:08 UTC, she commented on the release of government files: “This is called ‘breaking the law.’ Today’s deadline isn’t optional. It’s mandatory. Release ALL of the damn files.”

Jayapal has represented Washington’s 7th District in Congress since 2017 after previously serving in the Washington State Senate from 2014 to 2016. She was born in Chennai in 1965 and currently resides in Seattle. Jayapal holds degrees from Georgetown University and Northwestern University.
