U.S. Representative Pramila Jayapal, who represents Washington’s 7th district in Congress, has posted a series of critical statements regarding former President Donald Trump’s recent actions and rhetoric on social media.
On April 6, 2026, Jayapal posted: “Trump’s America-last budget.”
The following day, she addressed escalating tensions related to U.S. military action in Iran. On April 7, 2026, Jayapal wrote: “This threat is outrageous, dangerous, and unhinged.
Trump’s illegal war in Iran has already led to enormous death and destruction, including a school bombing that killed over 100 children. Congress must immediately act to rein him in before more people die.”
Later the same day, Jayapal issued another statement calling for immediate political action against Trump: “Donald Trump threatening the destruction of an entire civilization is madness.
He is completely unfit to serve as President of the United States.
Invoke the 25th Amendment. Or Republicans must stand up with us to impeach him. We cannot allow him to set fire to the world.”
Pramila Jayapal has served as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives since 2017 after succeeding Jim McDermott. She previously held office in the Washington State Senate from 2014 to 2016 and currently resides in Seattle. Born in Chennai (formerly Madras State) in 1965, Jayapal holds degrees from Georgetown University and Northwestern University.
