U.S. Representative Pramila Jayapal, who serves Washington’s 7th district in Congress, has raised concerns about the Trump administration’s foreign policy decisions in a series of tweets posted on March 30, 2026.
In her first post at 18:31 UTC, Jayapal wrote, “The Trump administration is preparing for ground operations in Iran. This senseless war is killing civilians, wasting billions of taxpayer dollars, and raising your prices. We’ve seen this story before — more bombs and more death are not the solution.”
Less than an hour later, she commented on federal budget priorities by stating, “There you have it: Money for war, but not for health care. That should be the new Republican slogan.”
Later that evening at 20:16 UTC, Jayapal addressed potential U.S. actions toward Cuba: “We cannot let Cuba become the next target on Trump’s list after Venezuela and Iran. Congress must pass my resolution to block Trump from using taxpayer dollars to attack Cuba without congressional authorization.”
Pramila Jayapal has represented Washington’s 7th District in Congress since 2017 after succeeding Jim McDermott. She previously served in the Washington State Senate from 2014 to 2016 and resides in Seattle. Born in Chennai (formerly Madras State) in 1965, she holds degrees from Georgetown University and Northwestern University.
