U.S. Representative Pramila Jayapal, who represents Washington’s 7th district in Congress, posted a series of statements on July 31, 2025, addressing recent actions by the Trump administration related to citizenship policies, tariffs affecting consumer goods prices, and changes to Medicaid.

In her first post at 19:09 UTC, Jayapal wrote: “BREAKING: I’m demanding answers from the Trump administration over their efforts to take away Americans’ citizenship.

Trump is weaponizing citizenship to go after his enemies. It’s a threat to every American’s safety.

Later that day at 19:46 UTC, she commented on rising costs linked to tariffs: “NEW: The maker of Dawn dish soap, Charmin toilet paper, Crest toothpaste, and Tide detergent will raise prices in August because of Trump’s tariffs.

Trump is making our lives more expensive — taking money directly out of your pocket.”

At 21:06 UTC, Jayapal addressed changes to Medicaid coverage and tax policy: “Countless families across our country could tell you a story about how Medicaid has saved the life of one of their loved ones.

But Trump and Republicans decided to burn it down and kick millions of Americans off their health care — just to give billionaires a tax break. https://t.co/xGkUhU14pv
