U.S. Representative Pramila Jayapal, who has represented Washington’s 7th district in Congress since 2017, posted a series of tweets on November 6 and 7, 2025, addressing actions by former President Donald Trump and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
In a follow-up tweet on November 7, she commented on an ICE enforcement action: “Trump isn’t going after the ‘worst of the worst’ — his ICE just violently dragged a screaming woman out of the daycare she works at, in front of young children. Beyond cruel. This must stop. https://t.co/BeNbcgqApg”.
Later that day, Jayapal summarized recent political developments: “Longest shutdown ever, a blatantly corrupt pardon, Tuesday’s big wins, and a judge cracks down on ICE conditions. Here are your weekly 3 bad things and 3 good things you need to know to stay engaged and powerful! https://t.co/ykVMTJwdFe”.
Pramila Jayapal was born in Chennai in 1965 and resides in Seattle. She served in the Washington State Senate from 2014 to 2016 before being elected to Congress. Jayapal holds degrees from Georgetown University (BA) and Northwestern University.
