Later that day at 16:40 UTC, she commented on former President Donald Trump’s stance on mail-in voting: “Trump wants to decide who can vote by mail, despite the fact that HE voted by mail in a recent election.
He knows his wars and reckless policies that are skyrocketing prices are unpopular, so he’s trying to rig the next election. It’s illegal and must be challenged in court.”

Jayapal has represented Washington’s 7th District in Congress since 2017 after succeeding Jim McDermott. She previously served in the Washington State Senate from 2014 to 2016.
