U.S. Representative Pramila Jayapal, who serves Washington’s 7th district, posted a series of tweets on October 14, 2025, criticizing both former President Donald Trump’s military actions in the Caribbean and Republican health care policies.
In her first post at 19:33 UTC, Jayapal wrote, “This is the FIFTH time Trump has carried out an illegal bombing in the Caribbean. Using the military to execute alleged criminals with no due process or input from Congress is brazenly unconstitutional and damaging to our democracy.”
Later that evening at 20:52 UTC, she addressed the impact of potential Republican decisions on health care premiums, stating, “In Speaker Johnson’s district, people would see their health care premiums skyrocket $2,284 per month if Republicans refuse to protect health care. Republicans are making their own constituents poorer and sicker.”
At 22:42 UTC on the same day, Jayapal continued her criticism of Republican health care policy by tweeting, “The past nine months have been filled with lies and broken promises from Republicans. But here’s the truth: Republicans don’t want to fix health care. They want to continue kicking millions of Americans off health care so they can give more tax breaks to billionaires.”
Pramila Jayapal has represented Washington’s 7th district in Congress since 2017, following her service in the Washington State Senate from 2014 to 2016. She was born in Chennai in 1965 and currently resides in Seattle. Jayapal holds degrees from Georgetown University and Northwestern University.
