U.S. Representative Pramila Jayapal, who represents Washington’s 7th district in Congress, posted a series of statements on her official Twitter account on August 8, 2025, addressing U.S. military aid to Israel, the Department of Justice’s settlement with UnitedHealth, and other current events.

In her first tweet at 15:29 UTC, Jayapal commented on U.S. support for Israel, writing: “Yes. This is a dangerous and illegal move and is exactly why the US must stop supporting this Israeli government with military aid.”

Shortly after, at 16:10 UTC, she issued another statement referencing an unspecified shutdown: “Good. Shut it down.”

Later that afternoon at 17:18 UTC, Jayapal addressed concerns about the Department of Justice’s recent decision involving UnitedHealth’s acquisition of Amedisys. She stated: “The DOJ’s settlement allowing UnitedHealth to acquire Amedisys will lead to higher costs and reduced care.
