Rep. Pramila Jayapal, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Washington’s 7th district since 2017, has recently posted a series of statements on her social media account addressing issues ranging from antisemitism to immigration enforcement and healthcare policy.
On November 20, 2025, Jayapal condemned the use of Nazi symbols by members of the military. She wrote, “Swastikas are a symbol of Nazis and violent antisemitism, and they should NEVER be tolerated in our country — much less by our military. This is absolutely horrific.”
Later that day, she highlighted several developments in national politics and policy: “Trump hikes health care premiums, ICE & Border Patrol terrorize families in Charlotte, Catholic Bishops rebuke Trump on immigration, and legislation to release the Epstein Files is now law. Here are 3 bad things and 3 good things you need to know to stay up to date and engaged!” The post referenced actions by former President Donald Trump regarding healthcare premiums as well as ongoing concerns about federal immigration enforcement.
In another post on November 20, Jayapal commented on the atmosphere in Charlotte concerning immigration enforcement: “Tens of thousands of Charlotte families are keeping their kids home from school because they’re afraid of ICE and Border Patrol. Is this really the America we want to live in?”
Pramila Jayapal has served as a congressional representative for Washington’s 7th District since succeeding Jim McDermott in 2017. Prior to her time in Congress, she was a member of the Washington State Senate from 2014 to 2016. Born in Chennai (formerly Madras), India in 1965, she currently resides in Seattle. Her academic background includes degrees from Georgetown University (1986) and Northwestern University (1990).
