U.S. Representative Pramila Jayapal, who serves Washington’s 7th district, posted a series of statements on December 15, 2025, addressing her office’s work for constituents and criticizing former President Donald Trump and his supporters.

In a post summarizing her office’s activities for the year, Jayapal wrote: “In 2025, my office answered thousands of letters and phone calls, saved millions of dollars, and completed important casework requests for constituents. We are always here to help you!” (December 15, 2025).

Later that day, she issued criticism directed at former President Trump: “What a vile and self-obsessed post. The American people deserve so much better. Every single Republican must condemn this remarkably cruel and unacceptable diatribe from Trump.” (December 15, 2025).

In another statement posted in the evening, Jayapal alleged violations of civil rights under Trump’s direction: “Trump’s secret police are abducting U.S. citizens and Green Card holders — just because of how they look, what language they speak, or where they hang out. They are racially profiling people, ignoring the Constitution, and breaking the law.” (December 15, 2025).

Pramila Jayapal has represented Washington’s 7th District in Congress since replacing Jim McDermott in 2017; she previously served in the Washington State Senate from 2014 to 2016. Born in Chennai in what was then Madras State in India in 1965, Jayapal is currently based in Seattle. She holds degrees from Georgetown University (BA) and Northwestern University.
