U.S. Representative Pramila Jayapal, who represents Washington’s 7th district in Congress, recently used her social media platform to address several topics including immigration, New Year’s wishes, and local government developments.
On December 31, 2025, Jayapal highlighted the contributions of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) recipients in the United States. She stated: “TPS recipients contribute more to the U.S. than they are ever given credit for. They are parents, neighbors, friends, and coworkers, and they deserve a path to citizenship.”
Welcoming the new year on January 1, 2026, she wrote: “Happy New Year! Cheers to 2026 — let it be filled with peace, joy, and justice.”
On January 2, 2026, Jayapal congratulated Seattle’s newly inaugurated mayor by posting: “Congratulations to Seattle’s newly sworn-in Mayor, Katie Wilson! I am so excited to work together for our beautiful city and look forward to seeing all of the amazing things I know she will accomplish.”
Jayapal has represented Washington’s 7th District in Congress since replacing Jim McDermott in 2017. Prior to her congressional service that began in 2017 after serving in the Washington State Senate from 2014 through 2016, she built a record on advocacy issues important to her constituents.
