U.S. Representative Pramila Jayapal, who serves Washington’s 7th district, shared several posts on her social media accounts in early February 2026 addressing antitrust enforcement, the Super Bowl, and calls for government transparency.
On February 8, Jayapal posted a quote from former Assistant Attorney General Jonathan Kanter regarding federal antitrust law enforcement. She wrote, “Washington made a choice. A choice to let the laws turn to rust.” She continued by highlighting Kanter’s criticism of the Trump administration’s approach: “Here’s former Assistant AG for the U.S. Antitrust Division Jonathan Kanter on how Trump’s admin is failing to enforce the antitrust laws on the books. And how we can actually lower costs for Americans.”
The following day, Jayapal celebrated Seattle’s football victory with an enthusiastic post: “THE SEAHAWKS ARE SUPERBOWL CHAMPIONS!!! What an AMAZING game!! ” (February 9).
Later that day, she called attention to a Super Bowl Sunday advertisement produced by survivors of Jeffrey Epstein and urged action from federal authorities: “Everyone should watch this incredibly powerful ad, released on Super Bowl Sunday, from Epstein survivors. The DOJ must release all the files NOW. #StandWithSurvivors”
Pramila Jayapal has represented Washington’s 7th District in Congress since 2017 after serving in the Washington State Senate between 2014 and 2016. She was born in Chennai in 1965 and currently resides in Seattle. Jayapal holds degrees from Georgetown University and Northwestern University.
