U.S. Representative Pramila Jayapal, who serves Washington’s 7th district, used her social media platform on November 11, 2025, to express gratitude toward veterans and highlight her recent visit to a local transitional housing complex.
In an early post marking Veterans Day, Jayapal stated, “Today is Veterans Day — a time to send our thanks to all those who have sacrificed so much to defend our freedoms and values. To all those who have served and put their lives on the line — thank you.” (posted November 11, 2025).
Later that day, she shared details of her engagement with Michael’s Place, a facility providing transitional housing for veterans. Jayapal wrote, “Last week, I visited Michael’s Place, a transitional housing complex for veterans, to meet with residents and staff. Our country’s veterans have sacrificed so much to keep us safe, and they deserve support when they come home. Thank you to @ccsww for providing stable housing.” (posted November 11, 2025).
Jayapal also took the opportunity on Veterans Day to acknowledge fellow legislator Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman. She said in her post: “Thank you to @RepBonnie for your years of service as a fierce and principled leader in the House! I am grateful to have worked so closely together to build progressive power and I and your constituents will miss you! “ (posted November 11, 2025).
Pramila Jayapal has represented Washington’s 7th District in Congress since 2017 after succeeding Jim McDermott. Prior to serving in Congress, she was a member of the Washington State Senate from 2014 until 2016. Born in Chennai in 1965 and now residing in Seattle at age 57, Jayapal holds degrees from Georgetown University (BA) and Northwestern University.
