U.S. Representative Pramila Jayapal, who represents Washington’s 7th district in Congress, recently posted a series of tweets addressing federal spending priorities and raising allegations regarding the handling of high-profile legal files.

On February 14, 2026, Jayapal criticized former President Donald Trump’s allocation of funds for immigration enforcement. She wrote, “Trump is spending $38.3 billion for ICE to incarcerate tens of thousands of immigrants in warehouses. Instead, we could spend: $20 billion to end homelessness in the U.S. $30 billion to extend the ACA tax credits for a year $20 billion for free school lunches nationwide”.

Later that day, Jayapal alleged misconduct by a public official related to the Epstein case, stating on February 14, 2026: “Pam Bondi is orchestrating a massive cover-up of the Epstein Files.” She also posted a link without additional comment at 18:43:12 UTC.

Pramila Jayapal has served as a member of Congress since 2017 after succeeding Jim McDermott and previously held office in the Washington State Senate from 2014 to 2016. Born in Chennai in 1965 and currently residing in Seattle, Jayapal holds degrees from Georgetown University and Northwestern University.
