U.S. Representative Pramila Jayapal, who represents Washington’s 7th district in Congress, posted a series of statements on September 26, 2025, addressing concerns about political interference in the Department of Justice, transparency regarding the Epstein Files, and accountability for law enforcement actions.
In a post made at 13:56 UTC, Jayapal stated, “Trump is weaponizing the DOJ against his political enemies. Today it is Comey, tomorrow it could be anyone he disagrees with.”
Later that day at 15:29 UTC, she wrote, “They’re really doing everything possible to keep us from voting to release the Epstein Files…”
At 16:29 UTC on the same day, Jayapal commented on law enforcement conduct: “Good. This kind of horrific behavior cannot be tolerated. DHS is doing the right thing in this case, but unfortunately, there have been far too many instances of agents using increasingly violent tactics against immigrants and citizens alike. There must be accountability.”
Pramila Jayapal has represented Washington’s 7th district in Congress since 2017 after succeeding Jim McDermott. Before her tenure in Congress, she served in the Washington State Senate from 2014 to 2016. Born in Chennai (formerly Madras State) in 1965 and currently residing in Seattle at age 57, Jayapal holds degrees from Georgetown University (1986) and Northwestern University (1990).
