U.S. Representative Pramila Jayapal, who serves Washington’s 7th district, recently shared updates on congressional actions and political developments through her official Twitter account.
On September 18, 2025, Jayapal announced that the Committee had rejected her proposed amendment regarding U.S. military aid to Israel. She wrote, “UPDATE: the Committee voted down my amendment to block some military aid to Israel unless they comply with US-led investigations of IDF killings of US citizens. Frankly, it’s outrageous that members of Congress voted against this. I thank my five Dem colleagues who voted yes.” In a subsequent post on September 19, she publicly thanked several colleagues for their support: “Thank you @JoaquinCastrotx, @RepSaraJacobs, @RepDean, and @rep_jackson for voting for this amendment.”
Later on September 19, Jayapal summarized key political events from the week in another tweet: “Falling credit scores, Trump empowers Big Oil polluters, a court rejects Trump’s attempt to fire Lisa Cook, and we’re one signer away from forcing a vote to release the Epstein Files. Here are your weekly 3 bad things and 3 good things you need to know!”
Pramila Jayapal has represented Washington’s 7th District in Congress since 2017 after previously serving in the Washington State Senate from 2014 to 2016. She was born in Chennai (formerly Madras), India in 1965 and currently resides in Seattle. Her educational background includes degrees from Georgetown University and Northwestern University.
