The Seattle Mariners concluded their 2026 Spring Training with a final Cactus League game against the Padres on March 23, marking the end of camp as roster decisions were finalized and preparations for Opening Day began.

This year’s Spring Training stood out because several prospects made significant contributions, signaling potential changes for the team’s upcoming season. The trio of infielder Colt Emerson and starting pitchers Kade Anderson and Ryan Sloan delivered strong performances, raising expectations that they could play key roles in Seattle’s plans for 2026. “Being in big league camp was awesome,” Sloan said after his showing in the Spring Breakout prospect showcase. “Just being around those guys, seeing how they work, seeing how they go about their business, kind of just allowed me to realize that I belong there — like, my stuff is good enough.”

Injuries also played a role this spring. Bryce Miller is expected to start the season on the injured list due to left oblique inflammation but is making progress in his throwing program. Manager Dan Wilson said, “We want to get him back as quickly as we can. But at the same time, we want it to make sense. So I think the way he’s been progressing has been outstanding.” J.P. Crawford may also miss Opening Day with a sore throwing shoulder but could return soon after.

Brendan Donovan drew attention for his consistent effort and productivity at bat since joining the team. Through Sunday’s win over the White Sox, he posted a .422 batting average with one home run and three stolen bases across 54 plate appearances while striking out only six times. Donovan said, “Your effort, your mentality, all that — those are things that you can control in this crazy game… I just try to play like my hair is on fire, and that’s something that I think makes the game more fun, too.”

Another standout was Cole Young who led Seattle’s Cactus League home run tally with six homers at age 22—including two in one night against Cleveland—showing increased power and confidence heading into what teammates believe could be a breakout year.

As players prepare for Opening Day and final roster moves are completed, fans will be watching how these young prospects integrate into an experienced lineup during what could be an important season for Seattle.
