Cristian Roldan scored twice as Seattle Sounders FC defeated St. Louis CITY SC 4-1 on April 18 at Lumen Field, extending their unbeaten streak in Major League Soccer to five matches.

The win keeps Seattle in fourth place in the Western Conference with 16 points from seven games this season. The match marked the club’s first league home game since February due to renovations at Lumen Field for the upcoming FIFA World Cup.

Roldan opened the scoring in the 22nd minute and added another goal in the 37th, both assisted by Albert Rusnák. Rusnák later converted a penalty early in the second half after Paul Rothrock was fouled, marking his fourth goal of the season. Osaze De Rosario added a late goal, his first of this campaign, with assists from Jesús Ferreira and Peter Kingston.

St. Louis managed a consolation goal through Eduard Löwen during stoppage time but could not overcome Seattle’s lead. The Sounders have now won all four meetings against St. Louis at home since their opponents joined MLS last year.

Brian Schmetzer rotated several players into his starting lineup following a midweek Concacaf Champions Cup match against Tigres UANL, giving opportunities to Andrew Thomas, Antino Lopez, Hassani Dotson, Paul Arriola and Danny Musovski.

Seattle will remain at home for their next fixture when they host FC Dallas on April 25.
