The Seattle Storm announced on Apr. 12 that WNBA Champion and four-time All-Defensive selection Ezi Magbegor has re-signed with the team. The terms of the deal were not disclosed, in line with team policy.
Magbegor’s return is significant for both the organization and its supporters, as she has been a key player on defense and continues to develop her skills on the court. “From the start, it was a priority for us to bring Ezi back to Seattle. She means a great deal to this organization and to our city,” said Storm General Manager Talisa Rhea. “On the court, she has a real impact on the defensive end with her ability to cover ground, protect the rim and disrupt plays. She anchors us. What’s been just as impressive is her growth and the way she’s expanding her game and her voice. This next chapter is about fully stepping into that. We believe Ezi is one of the most impactful two-way players in the league, and we’re excited to keep building with her at the center of it.”
During the 2025 season, Magbegor reached several career milestones including surpassing 1,000 career rebounds and moving into second place on Seattle’s all-time blocks list after recording her 350th block. On June 3, she set a WNBA record by blocking five shots within just under two minutes of playtime.
She also became unique in league history by recording at least five blocks and five assists in less than twenty minutes during a single game on June 17, finishing that regular season ranked No. 22 all-time in WNBA blocks with a total of 354 career blocks.
“When I think of home, I think of Seattle,” said Magbegor regarding her new contract with Seattle Storm. “I’m so excited to be back in a city and with an organization that means so much to me. As I continue my career, I’m excited to grow with this team in front of our amazing Storm fans.”
Magbegor recently played for Unrivaled’s Hive where she averaged 7.5 points and 5.5 rebounds per game over eleven appearances while shooting over fifty percent from field goal range earlier this year; additionally representing Australia during FIBA Women’s World Cup Qualifying Tournament held March in Istanbul.
