The Seattle University track and field team will compete at the OSU PNW Invite, hosted by Oregon State University from March 20-21 in Corvallis. The Redhawks are set for a full weekend of events after weather limited their participation to throwing events last week.

This competition is significant as it marks the first time since 2024 that Seattle U will participate in the OSU PNW Invite, where they previously achieved 27 personal-best performances. The meet offers athletes an opportunity to build on past successes and continue setting school records.

Last week, Rock Gignac led the Redhawks with a javelin throw of 45.84 meters, nearing his personal best and maintaining his position among the top performers in school history. Rachel Albright also competed in the women’s hammer throw, while Zachary Schriner and Jackson Jarrett represented the men’s javelin squad.

Distance runners will make their outdoor season debut at this event. Azalea Groleau enters holding several top times in school history, including the best 5000-meter mark and high rankings in both cross country and track events. Annabelle Clapp is another standout, appearing multiple times in Seattle U’s record books for her performances in sprints and relays.

On the men’s side, Roman Radecki will make his collegiate outdoor debut after earning a spot among the fastest cross country runners as a freshman last fall. Returning veterans such as Zoe Tibbo, who won the triple jump at this meet two years ago, are expected to contribute again.

The OSU PNW Invite begins at noon on Friday, March 20. This event is one of two scheduled trips to Corvallis for Seattle U this season, with another meet planned for early May.
