The Seattle University track and field team achieved notable results at the OSU High Performance Meet, according to a May 2 announcement. The Redhawks recorded 19 personal records and made nine changes to the school’s all-time top ten lists.

The event saw Seku Sanders add his name to the Redhawks’ 400-meter rankings with a time of 49.12 seconds, marking the sixth-best in school history. Kristina Shkalenkova posted a personal best of 58.22 seconds in the women’s 400 meters, moving into ninth place on the all-time list.

Riley Tricas led Seattle U in the men’s 800 meters with a time of 1:53.74, placing him ninth in program history. Teammates Dan Barreto and Diego Razo-Castaneda also set personal records in that event. On the women’s side, Annabelle Clapp improved her own third-best mark in school history for the women’s 800 meters with a time of 2:08.89 and also lowered her record in the 1500 meters to finish at 4:26.24.

Other highlights included Jordan White and Peyton Basilio setting personal bests in the women’s 1500 meters, while Roman Radecki and Khalid Hirsi did so for the men’s event as well. Jeremy Posdon cut over nineteen seconds from his steeplechase time to move up from eighth-fastest to fourth-fastest on Seattle U’s all-time list with a finish of 9:20.34.

In field events, Rock Gignac threw a personal best of 48.25 meters in javelin—the sixth-furthest throw for Seattle U—while teammate Zachary Schriner also holds an all-time top ten spot this season.

The Redhawks’ men’s and women’s relay teams both posted their best times this season; notably, the women’s team ran what is now ranked as tenth-fastest in school history at three minutes fifty-eight point sixty-three seconds.

Seattle University will compete next at two meets: Oregon Twilight on May 8 followed by Portland Twilight on May 9.
